Universitas Indonesia (UI) is a modern, comprehensive, open-minded, multi-culture, and humanism campus that covers wide arrays of scientific disciplines. UI was founded in 1849 and represents the most experiencing educational institution in Asia. Additionally, Christiaan Eijkman (The Director of Javaneese Medical Doctor School-the earlier form of universitas indonesia) was awarded the Noble Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1929. He was the first to point out a substance in the rice skin and later was to be known as vitamin B1. he was also awarded the Prize for his new of investigating and his method to control diseases caused by vitamin deficiency.

Recently, UI produces more than 400.000 alumni and continues its important role both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, it is our commitment to produce high quality of education system, global standard research activities and maintaining high standard of international academic research publications.

Being one of the top best universities in the world, UI is actively expanding international cooperation with other world class universities. Vivacious cooperation had been developed in the domain of education and joint-research with the finest universities. UI builds strong cooperation with top universities such as Washington University, Tokyo University, Melbourne University, Sydney University, Leiden University, Erasmus University, Kyoto University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Australian National University, and National University of Singapore.
However, UI is actively contributes to strengthen and enlarge international network by actively participating to both regional as well as international education and research association. UI plays an active role on 7 higher learning associations in Asia Pacific, Europe, Southeast Asia, and worldwide associations such as APRU (Association of Pacific Rim Universities), AUN (ASEAN University Network), and ASAIHL (Association of South East Asia Institution of Higher Learning). The first association, UI becomes one of the board of Director of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU).

Furthermore, UI campus is one of the most magnificent green campuses in the world. UI has two campuses; one is in the central business in Jakarta (Salemba) and the second one is located in Depok areas (West Java). Depok campus is a green campus covering 320 hectares. UI maintains the ecology conservation by utilizing only 25 percent of area for academic, research and student activities; while up hold 75 percent for forestation. UI commitment for ecology is also shown by wonderful lakes (in total UI has 8 lakes) inside campus. UI is an astonishing campus that facilitates knowledge transfers and invention activities for all ‘civitas-academica’ UI and humanity.

Airlangga University

In 1948 Airlangga University was still a branch of the University of Indonesia and had two faculties, namely faculty of medicine and faculty of dentistry. On the ninth commemoration of the Heroes Day on November 10,1954, based on the Government Regulation No.57/1954, Airlangga University was established with 5 faculties:
  1. Faculty of Medicine
  2. Faculty of Dentistry
  3. Faculty of Law
  4. Faculty of Letters in Denpasar, Bali
  5. Faculty of Education Science, Malang
In 1961, the Faculty of Economics which was formerly called Surabaya College of Economics became a part of Airlangga University, and the other two faculties located in Malang and Bali became a part of other Universities, namely the faculty of Letters in Denpasar (1962) and the Faculty of Education Science in Malang (1963).

Several faculties were added later:
  1. Faculty of Pharmacy (1964)
  2. Faculty of Veterinary Medicines (1972)
  3. Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (1977)
  4. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Scieces (1982)
  5. Post Graduate Faculty (1982), which later became the post Graduate Program in 1991
  6. Faculty of Public Health (1993)
  7. Faculty of Psychology (1993)
  8. Faculty of Letters (1998)
Airlangga University was named after the famous King Airlangga who ruled the eastern part of Indonesia archipelagoes from 1019 to 1042. The symbol of the University was taken from the royal seal showing the picture of a giant eagle being, a riding animal of the God Vishnu, holding a jar containing, "Amrta", water symbolizing the "spirit of eternal life".

The symbol shows that Airlangga University is the source of eternal science. The university's flag has yellow and blue stripes in equal rows. Yellow symbolizes majesty and blue is for nobility and wisdom. The colors were derived from the veil which covered the statue of Vishnu during the inception ceremony of Airlangga University on November 10, 1954 by the first President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)

Occupying a large area totaling 180 hectares as its main campus in Sukolilo, an area in the vicinity of East Surabaya, not only does ITS provide advantages for both excellent scientific activities and pleasant natural life environment, but it also has a very friendly atmosphere and enormous community spirit. To this main campus should be added the Manyar campus, home of the Diploma-3 Program in Civil Engineering, and the Cokroaminoto campus, where the Graduate Program in Management, ITS Cultural Center, and some collaborative institutions are based.

The Institute has long been maintaining its reputation for innovative and proactive relationships with industry and the public services. Recognized as one of the best technology universities in Indonesia, ITS offers great and challenging career prospects to its graduates. Currently, ITS has a wide range of degree and non-degree programs which are managed under five faculties, i.e., Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Faculty of Marine Technology and Faculty of Information Technology. In addition, two polytechnics operate under the Institute’s management, i.e., Electronic State Polytechnics and Shipbuilding State Polytechnics.

ITS offers 76 courses run under 6 doctorate programs (S-3), 13 master programs (S-2), 22 undergraduate programs (S-1), 6 programs of three-year diploma (D-3) under the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, 4 programs of four-year diploma of polytechnic (D-4), and 8 programs of three-year diploma of polytechnic (D-3).
